Freshwater Mullet as the name implies is the Australian Freshwater Mullet.
How To Identify:
Freshwater Mullet are very dark along the back, even appearing black, in contras to the Sea Mullet, in addition Freshwater Mullet have bright orange-yellow eyes whereas the Sea Mullets are black.
How To Catch:
Freshwater mullet are not often targeted by anglers and very tricky to try and catch. A small bit of floating bread or earthworm would be the best way to try and tempt them.
In Australia the Freshwater Mullet is found in Southern Queensland and along the coastal rivers of New South Wales south to just below Sydney. They move to brackish water to spawn and often then caught in the same area as Sea Mullet
