Description: 
The Red Morwong is another of the more shallow water dwelling morwong.
How To Identify: 
The Red Morwong is a reddish brown fish with a silver belly. The Red Morwong is characterised by a pair of small blunt horns in front of the eyes. They grow to nearly 3kgs but mostly caught to about 1.5kgs.
How To Catch: 
Red Morwong are not often targeted by anglers but often caught by rock fisherman or those fishing inshore reefs. Not a really fussy eater, although they prefer prawns. Normal reef fishing tackle would more than suffice.
Where Found: 
In Australia the red morwong is found from Southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and just into South Australia. Red Morwong prefer the shallower reef and gravelly areas not far from headlands and shorelines.
