Small Mouth Sea Perch, know more widely as the Small Mouth Nannygai, is a popular reef species.
How To Identify:
The Small Mouth Nannygai is very similar to the Large Mouth Nannygai however it has a smaller mouth. It is also a beautiful bright scarlet. The Small Mouth Nannnygai grows to a slightly smaller 10 kgs.
How To Catch:
Small Mouth Nannygai are mainly caught with fresh fish pieces or fillets or squid. Since they are mostly found in deeper reefs you need to fish on or near the bottom.
In Australia the Small Mouth Nannygai (Sea Perch) is found right up the Queensland coast and into the Northern Territory. Often found with its close cousin the Large Mouth Nannygai (Sea Perch). They are found on rocky and coral reefs.
