Small member of the tuna family, rarely eaten but a great bait (alive or dead)
How To Identify:
Typical Tuna type look, in fact similar to a young Mac Tuna but has no noticeable teeth and lack of spots below the pectoral fin
How To Catch:
Will take most small trolled lures, however mostly caught for bait by chasing schools and casting small metal slugs into and around the school. As always with Tuna make sure you match the metal slug size to that of the baitfish they are feeding on
Around the mouths of estuaries, headlands and inshore reefs. Found around the NSW coastline and lower WA.
