Extreme Sport Fishing Adventures

Ocean Blue Extreme Sport Fishing is a premier guiding fishing operation operating out of Port Havana, Vanuatu. They offer Half Day, Full Day and Extended  charters. Most of the charter operations operate out of Port Villa, however Ocean Blue and on the other side of the island and specialise in more sport fishing for species like GT, Dogtooth Tuna, Marlin and other Pelagics.

The Fishing

We did a day trip with Ocean Blue and had a great time. We started out looking for Marlin and some big game fish but when they did not turn up, we decided to do some jigging. We got smoked by what appeared to be Dogtooth Tuna, and ended up landing a few nice Coral Trout. We then decided to try for some GT’s and landed one around the 20 kilo mark, which was a first for Corey Passey and he now has a much earned respect for GT’s! We then went on to catch a few other small fish, including a nice Big Eye Trevally. Overall a great day and highly recommend the operation. We will be back for an extended trip to tackle some more GT’s and Dogtooth Tuna.

The Location

Vanuatu is a fantastic place to enjoy not only the fishing but a great family place to visit as well.  Port Havana is a nice spot and the Trees and Fishes resort, although we did not stay there, looked like a great place to stay if you are wanting to do a few days with Ocean Blue.

Fishing Gear

The gear supplied by Ocean Blue was good quality shimano and you could easily turn up and just use the gear supplied. Although I did take my own gear.

The lodging

We did not stay with Trees and Fishes resort – but from other reports it is a great place to stay.

The Food

A nice platter of breakfast was there when we arrived and there was plenty of snacks on the boat. Lunch was supplied and was fresh meat and salad.

The Price Includes

Price included the day fishing, fishing gear, lunches and morning/afternoon tea.
